In Thailand there are interestingly 3 new year festivals. The first being (as in the West) on the 1st of Jan each year. The second as mentioned above which is the Chinese New Year and. Last but certainly not least is the Thai new year also Known as the Songran Water Festival. This starts on the 13th of April and goes until the 15th. If you're there be prepared to get very soaked!
